Tavolara Film Festival, 2021 program: back again this year in the north east of Sardinia, despite Covid, one of the most engaging film festivals in Italy. And not only for the great quality of the films on offer but also and above all for the unique and unforgettable scenery that hosts it: the island of Tavolara.

In fact, we are talking about the Tavolara Film Festival (“A night in Italy”), the most important and famous film festival in Sardinia, which this year celebrates its thirtieth anniversary. The festival will take place from 15 to 18 July 2021, with an innovative formula once again, which takes into account the health emergency, but which does not renounce to celebrate once again, in a spaced and contained way, the beauty of the island that hosts the most beautiful cinema arena in the world.

The Tavolara Film Festival “A night in Italy” – which was founded 30 years ago by the brothers Marco and Augusto Navone – is presented in this 2021 edition with many events dedicated to cinema lovers, including screenings, meetings, music, exhibitions and great guests.

Screening program of the Tavolara Film Festival 2021:

I remember that the first evenings of the festival, a real preview, were already held in June 2021. On the 15th in Piazzetta Gramsci in Porto San Paolo with the “Homage to Dante Alighieri” with the vision of the silent film “L’Inferno ”(1911), with the original live soundtrack by Luigi Frassetto and readings by Neri Marcorè. Then the inauguration of the exhibition “8 ½ by Fellini, in unpublished photographs by Paul Ronald” in Nuoro and the two workshops in Olbia “Body to body with the city. Visual experiences in research “(with Emanuel Muroni and Maurizio Memoli) and” Photography and cinema, seizing the moment and prolonging it “(with Angelo Turetta and Vincenzo Carpineta).

Thanks to the collaboration with the Academy of Italian Cinema – David di Donatello Awards, the 5 short films nominated for the latest edition of the David Awards will be the first time, together and on the big screen.

Paid screenings:

All screenings will be paid for with the allocation of an assigned seat, admission € 2.00 plus presale, tickets are available online at the website www.cinemaolbia.it. The cost of the ferry is not included.

Due to the Covid emergency, the seating capacity will be reduced, access will be subject to a fee, with assignment of an assigned seat. The audience on which tickets are booked is virtual and purely indicative. The organization will arrange the public taking into account the legal requirements relating to distancing. In any case, everyone will be guaranteed an excellent vision.

Anti-Covid Rules:

The event will take place in compliance with all health requirements relating to the spacing and sanitation of the environments. People without tickets will not be admitted in the stalls. Remember to:

Sanitize your hands before reaching

Avoid crowds, even when queuing;
Cover your nose and mouth with handkerchiefs in case of coughing and sneezing, otherwise use the crease of the elbow.
Where is it and how to get there and where to eat on the island of Tavolara:

For the occasion, ferries are scheduled to depart for Tavolara from the Marina di Porto San Paolo pier to coincide with the days and times of the screenings. To be even more precise, the ferries will depart from 6:30 pm, until the arena’s maximum capacity is reached. Here are the complete timetables of the ferries to Tavolara. There are two restaurants on the island:
